Description of Colon Hydrotherapy

Aug 17, 2007
One of the most effective ways of getting your colon cleansed is to go for colon hydrotherapy.

When you register for a colon cleansing program through colon hydrotherapy you normally have to call your therapist for 10 to 12 times over a phase of two months. The span of the program or the regularity of visits may differ according to individual program. What we will do here is give you a description of what actually happens during colon hydrotherapy.

The first step is for the patient to lie on a table in the fetal position. While he is in this pose the therapist will put in a plastic tube trough the anus. After the tube has been placed properly the person is asked to turn gently without unsettling the tube. Then distilled water is forced through the tube into the patient's colon. If you are going through this therapy for the first time, you might feel a bit weird. The uncomfortable and slightly painful sensation increases as the pressure of the water flow builds up. It is only after the pumping of the water is stopped that the strange feeling recedes.

As the patient lies on the table with his knees bent he can actually see all the stuff that comes out from his colon through the transparent tube. In fact all the waste is then transferred through another larger clear tube which is illuminated so that the therapist can inspect the floating material more clearly.

As one lies on the table he can actually see all the stuff coming out of the patient's colon. The therapist massages his colon by pressing and pulling near his lower abdomen area. This operation is performed to release all the waste matter that has been stored inside the colon. The therapist generally repeats the massage three times during a session.

Every session normally lasts for something around 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Once the tube is withdrawn from the patient's body he is asked to spend some time in the toilet to see if any extra fluid is left to be removed.

If you are planning to go for a colon hydrotherapy program for the first time make sure that you have no important appointments lined up after the first day's session. This is because usually it has been noticed that getting the colon cleansed c for the first time can be quite demanding on the body. So one should keep aside the following day to recover from the effects of the therapy. However subsequent sessions generally are not that much of a hassle.
