Cremation - The Right Way To Go
Many people don't like to think about death, whether it's theirs or that of a loved one. As one gets older, however, it can stick in your mind, and remind you that something must be done. It's a wise choice to think about funeral arrangements before you actually die, so that you will have it the way you want it, and not leave it up to those still living. One of the more popular ways to go is cremation.
Cremation is where your body is made into ashes, instead of being buried underground. Once the body is cremated, the ashes can still be buried, or they can be scattered around or saved on the fireplace mantel. There are several different positive things about being cremated.
Cremation is a considerably less expensive way to dispose of the body. This is because crematory fee is less expensive than the cemetery for a plot and burial charges. You may still have a mortuary service for the loved one, but those costs are less, as well, if you don't have a casket and all the trappings. Even if you buy a nice urn for the ashes, this is still less expensive than caskets, which are rising in price every year.
Once you have the ashes, you can do whatever you want with them. You can bury them in the family cemetery, if you wish. Some people choose to bury some of the ashes. With the other half, many people scatter them in a significant spot, such as the ocean or prayer garden. Others scatter them at places of special significance in their lives. Still others prefer to keep them at home, either hidden away or on display. This is a great positive if you wish to do something special with your loved one, as this can't be done if they aren't cremated.
Yet another good reason to go with cremation is the fact that it has less of a negative impact on the environment. Burying a body can negatively impact the earth and contaminate the environment. Embalming fluids and the coffins themselves can put harmful ingredients into the earth. Another environmental concern is that traditional burial takes up a lot of space. Soon, there will be no more room to bury people, or to build and expand, as there will be too many cemeteries in each town.
So when you go to plan your own funeral, or that of a loved one, keep in mind all the positive things about cremation. You might find that it's the way to go for you.
