In A Tough Economy, It's Network Marketing To The Rescue
Network marketing is the largest growing industry on the Internet today. In fact, many experts claim it's virtually recession-proof. Those are welcome words in today's economy.
Network marketing, however, is familiar, and usually not in a good way. I remember when I was a kid. For a brief time, my dad tried selling Amway. Of course, back then network marketing meant calling up every human being you've ever had any contact with and pitching your products and/or opportunity. It created a very uncomfortable situation for both my dad and his friends and family.
Some network marketing companies still do business like they did in the 60's. They still hold hotel meetings, hand out flyers, and some even still go door to door! With such archaic and uncomfortable methods still being taught, no wonder so many people still wince when the subject of network marketing comes up.
Most network marketers today, however, tap in to the almost limitless power of the Internet. And why not? If we're marketing online, then we're targeting the people we want to target, and we're doing it 24/7! That's right. Even when we sleep our marketing is still going strong, and it's worldwide.
In the past, network marketers also relied on lead sheets, which contained names and phone numbers of people who supposedly had requested information about a home based business opportunity. Problem was, most of these leads were unreceptive to say the least. At worst, some were downright hostile.
Today we generate our own leads, so we know exactly where they're coming from and when they requested information. Using cutting edge Internet technologies, we target specific groups of people, those most likely to be looking for what we have to offer. Now, compare that to handing out flyers at Walmart or going door to door. Not much comparison, is there?
It's also important to teach these same lead generating methods to our downline. After all, duplication is the name of the game. The good news is that with all this technology, duplication is quite easy.
No longer do we have to teach people to use difficult, uncomfortable and downright sneaky methods of marketing. We don't tell our downline that everybody is their prospect, and then hope they don't get beat down so bad that they quit the first week.
These days, we simply teach them our system, which is usually easy to follow, which means higher duplication.
Heck, since the U.S. doesn't manufacture hardly anything anymore, we might be on the road to being an entire nation of network marketers. Don't laugh. With the economy going the way it is, it's not really that far-fetched anymore.
