The Perfect One-Two Punch For Internet Branding
If you have a website, here are two things you should be sure to have in place to help you with your Internet branding, marketing, SEO, and more.
First, you should have an email list and put the opt-in form on a visible place on your home page. Ideally it should be over the fold. The vast majority of people who visit your website for the first time will leave without making a purchase. This is because most people need to be exposed to your product at least seven times before they will buy from you. If you offer a free report, consultation, or newsletter, you can get some of these people to sign up for your email list.
Put a series of seven emails in your autoresponder. These emails will give your prospects additional information about your product and also help you build rapport with them so that they trust you. Include links to your website in each email. In the seventh email you can have a special "one-time offer" to help entice them to buy. If they still haven't purchased from you after the seventh email, you can send a broadcast email from time to time whenever you have a new offer or product to announce.
Second, you should create a blog if you don't have one already. Email and blogging go hand in hand. You can use some or all of your emails as blog posts, too. You'll just need to edit them and rework them into blog posts; don't just simply copy and paste an email into your blog. This way you get extra mileage from your emails. Also, send an email to your list announcing the new blog post each time you write one. Use teaser statements in the email to get them to read the post, such as "Find out the 7 deadly sins of online marketing in my new blog post."
Even though email is effective at increasing sales, email messages eventually end up in the trash or at the bottom of the inbox. You can give your emails extra shelf life but putting them on a blog too, where they remain on the web indefinitely and draw traffic to your website. The more blog posts you have, the more organic traffic you will get from the search engines. So make sure your marketing strategy includes both email and blogging, the two complement each other perfectly. Separately, they are each powerful on their own, but used together, you will really see additional leverage, and sales.
