Animals that are rescued from the wild are not all ill or injured but are really healthy with no sickness at all. The primary aim of rescue centers is to care for the native wildlife. Most countries have these rescue rehabilitation centers. Each must see to the preservation of its natural wildlife to ensure that the future generation will still see it.

Visiting the wildlife rescue center will show you they are treating the injured, ill or diseased animals. When these animals do get well they are going to be released to the habitat they belong. These rescue centers have been organized in different countries because of the increase in zoos, museums and nature centers. Rescue centers have many volunteers and other individuals that are willing to care for species on native wildlife.

Untrained individuals are not easily given permits. They would have to go through a stringent process before they can bring a wild animal home. Wildlife species have different nutritional requirements. If you can't give the proper care to these animals, they will likely suffer from nutritional disorders or worse, die.

You cannot just take care of native wildlife without getting first the necessary permits. Orphaned animals need proper care and inexperienced individuals can't provide it. But if you are determined to care for the animal, no one is stopping you from applying a permit. You see, rescue centers need volunteers like you so that their goals and objectives can be achieved.

Remember that since wild animals have specific dietary and nutritional requirements, taking care of it even for a short time is a bit expensive. If you can't afford the expenses, then don't push it because the authorities will not approve your permit or application. Besides, you are not going to keep the animal forever. You need to return it to its natural habitat at the right time.

The experienced staff of the rescue center will help you out. They can teach you some techniques in taking care of the wild animal and most centers provide a booklet so that the carer or volunteer will have some sort of a guide. If you see a healthy and active wild animal specie and you like to take care of it, secure the necessary permit.

If you are able to catch the animal, bring it to the center at once so that it can be checked completely by the vet. If the animal is alright and you are able to prove it to the authority that you are capable of caring for native wildlife, you can bring it home.
