Best Crazy College Stories on the Internet
College is a place where students grow and learn, relationships bloom, and college stories are born. There are thousands of college stories that people tell over and over. Some of them are personal happenings on campus, some of them are told and re told through the grapevine, and others are college urban legends. College stories are passed along from student to student, and if they are really great stories, they can spread like wildfire beyond campus, and thanks to the Internet, many of those stories are now available for the entertainment of the entire world.
One of the most widely spread college stories involves roommates and untimely death. This classic story claims that many colleges around the country will automatically award a student a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester if his roommate dies. Apparently, the story also claims that the reasoning behind this is that a death of a roommate can be so traumatic and devastatingly disturbing to a student that the student will be unable to concentrate, study, or function after the death of a roommate.
However, even if you despise your roommate, dont be so quick to wish that she would disappear; this is absolutely nothing but a college myth. No college has ever stated that should a roommate die, the other gets a 4.0. Although it is unclear exactly where, how, or who started this rumor, it is one that is decades old and seems to keep circulating through college campuses nationwide. Contrary to the college stories, there is nothing in it for you if your roommate dies, except for maybe temporarily more space in your dorm room until they find someone else to move in.
The next college story that has enjoyed some longevity on campuses is one that involves late professors. This amusing tale states that a professor is allowed to be up to ten minutes late for a class. Once the eleventh minute comes along, students are allowed to leave the classroom without penalty. Some versions of this story state that a professor with a PhD is allowed to be 15 minutes late for class. The truth of these college stories is that the professor has that entire class time reserved so to speak, and student are obligated to be in that classroom until the clock goes to the end of the class time. Of course, students can leave if the professor isnt there on time, but they should be careful nowhere does it state in university policies that they have the right to leave.
These are just a couple of amusing tales amongst the thousands of college stories that circulate throughout campuses across the country. Whenever you hear a story that seems overly entertaining, just be careful to check the official rulebook on campus before you assume that a college story is true.
