Misuse of Power: Obama Wants NCAA Rules Changed

By Rob Viglione
Dec 2, 2008
During an interview with 60 Minutes, Barack Obama promised to exert his power to change NCAA football playoff rules. This may seem like a minor issue, but its implications are enormous. The executive power entrusted to the President is devoid of authority to meddle in private affairs that have nothing to do with governing the country. This is clear and simple misuse of power.

You can review the actual interview here: http://www.thefreedomfactory.us/abuse-of-power-obama-wants-to-change-ncaa-playoffs/

Even the hint of using executive power to influence the NCAA is unacceptable and shows clear lack of respect for limitations on power mandated by our legal system.

The President's responsibility is limited to enforce national law as given in the Constitution and written by Congress, act as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, make treaties, and appoint federal officers.

We must all remain vigilant in keeping the growth of government power in check. When it comes down to it, power is a zero sum game. When government expands its power it does so at the expense of individual liberty.
