Britney Spears is the Most Searched for Online
The whole world knows the legendary singer, dancer and performer but 2008 has seen the revival of Britney Spears. The singer is set to re launch herself and her new album which is called Circus.
We saw her perform her new single Womaniser on the X factor, the show had obtained it biggest ever viewer rankings in the build up to Britney's performance. She had not performed for over 5 years in the UK and what better way to re launch her career than performing on one of the most watched TV reality shows in the world.
Searches online throughout 2008 have exploded for Britney Spears, there seems to be a lot of interest surrounding the star and 2009 is set to get even bigger and better as Britney re launches.
Will Britney be Able to Make a Comeback Successfully?
I have no doubt that Britney will make a superb comeback, there is no way that a singer and performer of such high calibre will fail. Ok Britney has had some tough times with the media and her private life, but don't we all? In the end she has picked herself up, become a much stronger person and modernised her music to meet the public demand.
Another aspect is that singers such as Britney are fighters and determined to succeed; they are in some way entrepreneurs. Singers that are manufactured on reality shows rarely succeed or stay around for long, because they have not really been working for it their whole lives, they basically do a normal job and are propelled to stardom in a minute. But it is different for singers such as Britney, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and many more, because they have been pushing themselves for a very young age and are talented, so there is no way or reason record labels should drop them.
Other major searches included reality shows Big Brother and X Factor as well as the film of the year High School Musical 3. Other celebrities that captured the public's imagination with real-life dramas include Amy Winehouse and Kate Moss, but just one male celebrity featured in the list, the actor Heath Ledger, who died suddenly in January.
The search year looks positive for the entertainment sector and I look forward to seeing what will develop in 2009. Besides that online users are growing at tremendous speeds and the new wave of online media could soon hit us.
