Interview MBA: Your Strategy for Success
A Masters of Business Administration is a popular choice for college students hoping to enter the worlds of business and finance. This is a degree which makes you far more employable and of course, leaves you well prepared to face the challenges of running a business. Far more than a general management program, an MBA is your way forward in a challenging and competitive world.
Without a doubt, the skills you can acquire are essential to success regardless of the career path you choose following graduation. A growing number of professionals are seeking out MBA to make their path to success in their careers an easier one. There are many specialized MBA programs available, making it the degree which talented and intelligent people choose to help them further their career ambitions.
Dedication and good grades are both essentials if you want to get into a highly esteemed business school, but there are some challenges along the way, such as passing a MBA interview. The particulars of the interview will vary from school to school, but there are three levels to this interview which you have to pass regardless of the college where you intend to pursue this degree.
A written test - this is a difficult step for many; it is best to begin preparing for the test far in advance of the date where it will be administered.
A personal interview - remember that your interviewer will usually form an opinion of you in the first few minutes of the interview - make a good impression off the bat!
Group discussion - the first two steps are the hardest part of the MBA interview process. Don't let that work go to waste by not being ready for the group discussion. This will take the form of a group exercise; be up to date of everything which may come up - there will be a lot of people watching, so you won't be able to hide a lack of knowledge here. You need to be prepared for anything.
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions in MBA interviews. After some research, I settled on these sample MBA interview questions as being the most helpful in preparing.
* Why do you want to pursue an MBA and why now? * Tell me about your career progression to date. * What do you plan to do if you don't get into this program? * What are your short term and long term goals and why? * Tell me about yourself. * How would your colleagues describe you? * How do you define success? * Do you have any questions for me?
The exact questions will vary depending on the particular school, but all of the above are very common questions to be asked in the course of an MBA interview. Be prepared and work towards the goal of getting into a reputable institution.
Best of luck!
