MBA Interview: Questions to Expect
This is a world which is constantly changing- and so are the challenges which you will face as a leader in the business world.
In an MBA program, you'll learn the leadership and management skills which will enable you to be successful throughout your career.
There are MBA courses which are famed the world over because they provide a high level of instruction, turning out students who are prepared to lead. These are the people who go onto success and fame in the world of business. You read about these schools all the time in business magazines.
If you are thinking of enrolling in an MBA program at one of these top schools, you should start by looking at your qualifications and your educational achievements and then use this information to come up with a short list of schools. You will then apply to these colleges - the next part is the most difficult; this is the MBA interview. The exact procedure varies from school to school, but in this article we'll cover some generally applicable tips for preparing for your MBA interview.
These are the procedures which are more or less the same at any college, though there are particulars which will vary.
* Written test * Group discussion. * Personal interview.
The written test will be used to assess the candidate's level of aptitude in regards to the criteria of the institution. After passing the written test, you can rest (slightly) easy - this is the tough part. However, you are only halfway there. You'll also need to be prepared for the group and individual interviews.
You'll need to be up to date on current events and generally sharp to pass the group interview. Learn everything you can about the business world and the latest developments within it to give yourself the best chance of passing this round.
The personal interview is slightly less stressful than the group interview, but is no less important. Keep in mind that your interviewer has a lot of experience at this and will see right through any false front you try to put up. Be honest and try to play up your leadership skills.
These are some of the most commonly asked questions in MBA interviews:
* Why do you want to attend business school? * Why did you decide to apply to this business school? * What can you contribute to our program? * How do you plan to use your degree? * What are your expectations of our MBA program? * What makes you stand out from the other candidates? * Where do you see yourself in five years?
Every interview is slightly different, but these are questions that you can count on being asked in an MBA interview.
