History and Hotels: Los Angeles
Known as the "City of Angels," Los Angeles brings great history, modern times, and even a look for what is to come in the future. Whether you are taking in the Kodak Theatre and getting a feel of celebrity Hollywood or finding culturist value in Little Tokyo, L.A. is full of fantastic views.
However, one of the hardest things to do when traveling to Los Angeles is figuring out where you are going to stay. So below you will find various hotels found in L.A. that are highly recommended. Each gives off their own unique appeal, but when you are traveling on vacation there is nothing better then getting a central location to everything.
Accommodating guests since 1923, the Millennium Biltmore has always offered a lavish stay. It is a place where not only Hollywood celebrities call their second home, but many of the presidents of the United States have stayed there as well. Even familiar names from around the world have made their presence felt at this hotel.
A more central location would be hard to find. As soon as you walk out on to the streets you are only moments away from taking in a Los Angeles Lakers or Dodgers game. However, if sports isn't your cup of tea then you can visit Walt Disney, museums, beaches and more. To put it gently, there is nothing better then convenience on vacation.
One of the best kept secrets around the area is the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. There is nothing wrong with feeling like a celebrity while on vacation and no one does it better. If your love is shopping then you will enjoy the sites of Rodeo Drive that is only five minutes from the hotel. Overall there are several shopping areas available, but it is only the beginning to all the activities.
While impressive, nothing is quite like Grauman's Chinese Theater. You can spend hours outside the courtyard enjoying all the stars on the Walk of Fame. You will come across names like James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Carey Grant and taking a piece of history with you. Then when you're done, you can sample the nightlife in Hollywood.
Los Angeles holds great history dating back to the Spanish Empire centuries ago. Once, Los Angeles was considered the stomping grounds of Spanish rule until after the Mexican-American War. Since then L.A. has become one of the prime places in the states to visit. While most may be in part to the nostalgia around celebrities like Jack Nicholson in the Los Angeles area instead of the hotels, it was the roaring 20s that brought this city to life. While each hotel Los Angeles can give you is something special, it's the memories you make that can last a lifetime.
