10 Reasons You Should Get a Hot Tub

By Chris Crowe

Hot tubs can be considered a part of the American dream. Well, maybe you wouldn't go that far. But there are a lot of people who love having a piping hot hot tub in their backyard for them to enjoy whenever they feel like it.

There really is nothing like taking a good soak after a long hard day of work, after playing soccer or basketball for a few hours, or sharing a few moments with your significant other in the warm waters of a spa. This is a list of ten reasons you should get yourself a hot tub. Of course, you don't have to get yourself one--maybe a close friend has one and you can drop by and use it. Just don't wear out your welcome.

1) Hot tubs are relaxing. I mentioned above how nice it is to take a nice hot dip to relax after a hard day or work.

2) Hot tubs are great for entertaining. People love hot tubs on a cool day as much as they love the pool on a hot one. It is always a great way to hang out with friends and pass the time.

3) Spas can ease muscle aches. Soaking in a jacuzzi is a good way to get the tension out of your muscles. If you have a sore back, you can spend some time against a strong spa jet to get the kinks out. Your tension will be released after some time in a hot tub.

4) Jacuzzi's are great in the winter and cold times of the year. If you live in a climate where it snows, then you may have had the amazing experience of sitting in a spa while snow falls around you. What could be cooler than that? Sitting in the hot water as the outside world gets snowed on. This is a very fun thing to do.

5) Kids like hot tubs. This is a true fact, but you also need to be wary of all the dangers that your children may be exposed to as a result of your jacuzzi. You always want to have your kids supervised while they are in your tub. It is too easy for something to go wrong that will result in an injury to a little one. Never let your kids into the jacuzzi while you are not around. In a supervised environment, hot tubs can be a very fun experience for kids.

6) They are fun year round. Spas can be useful in the wintertime as I mentioned above, but they are also a lot of fun on those cool summer nights after a fun day. If you are a surfer or a hiker, it can be very relaxing to come home and jump into the one hundred degree water.

7) Having a nice hot tub might help you make new friends. I'm only half-joking with this one, but the truth is your friends will want to come and hang out at your place if you have a jacuzzi. Your home will always be a place where people want to gather and have a good time. Always be safe and make sure your guests are safe around any body of water.

8) You will save money on gas. This is sort of a joke too, but if your friends are always coming over to your place to hang out, then you won't have to drive as much. Therefore, you will be able to save more money on gas.

9) Spas can be good for your health. In moderation, soaking in a hot tub may be good for you. You may sweat out harmful toxins by sitting in the steamy waters of your tub. Of course, you have to weigh in the fact that there is a lot of chlorine in the water as well as other chemicals that could potentially be harmful to you.

10) They are just really fun to have. Sure, there are maintenance issues and they can be considerable work just keeping them clean and properly maintained, but overall your experience will be a good one if you purchase a hot tub.

That is my list on why you may want to get yourself a spa. It is pretty opinionated, but I think the joys of this type of thing are quite universal. You can do some hot tub shopping and research online at many internet retailers. Just make sure to compare prices and find a deal that works for you.

Another thing you may want to consider is purchasing a very good hot tub cover, which will help protect your tub for a lot longer. This is good for the longevity of your spa and will save you money over time in repairs and maintenance costs.
