The Best Length For Your Article Submissions
There is a basic rule that we all need to follow when we are submitting our articles to the many article directory sites. And if you decide to follow this one rule, chances are that your article will be accepted by the largest number of sites. That one rule is to create quality content for your readers by actually discussing the article topic and to not just giving your readers a sales pitch for your product.
Believe it or not, many article directory sites will almost always reject your article if it looks like you are trying to sell something in the article. Now, since I mentioned selling, you probably know that since I took the time to write this article that I probably have a website and I probably have something that I could sell. The good thing for me is that you are now deep into the second paragraph of this article and you have no idea what my product may be if I did have something to offer you. That's a good sign!
In the majority of cases the article directory sites are going will applaud people for not making their article a "sales pitch." As long as the next few paragraphs that I share with you contain good content, then there is a high chance that this article will be accepted by the highest number of article directory sites.
What you want to do is craft your article so that you hit hard on the topic without using any "fluff." These sites aren't necessarily looking for a 3 page article that tells an irrelevant 2 page story and then spends 1 page discussing the article topic. What the sites are looking for is that you discuss the topic of your article title without filing the article with links to your web pages. There is a box reserved for authors that is especially designed for creating an offer at the end of each article. That box is the "About the Author" or the "Resource" box. Limit your advertising to this box and the article directory sites will thank you for it.
So, what exactly is the best length for your article submission? Well, to be honest with you, in my experience if you create a short half-page article (around 600 words), and you make it interesting and hit hard on the article title, then you will make the article directory sites happy. They aren't going to necessarily care if your article hasn't reached the 2 page mark.
So, if you limit your own personal advertising to the "About the Author" box like you should, and if you do write a great half page articles, then a few great things will happen. First, these articles will take less time to write (40 minutes max for many authors). Second, your articles will get accepted by many of the article directory sites. Third, your articles will get read faster (since it's shorter) which means that people will see your "offer" in the "About the Author" box even faster. In a lot of cases, this means that more people will click through to your site.
O.K., so those are the huge tips that have worked so well for a number of people across the web. Good luck with your articles and just remember not to waste your time writing a bunch of articles that are actually just sales pitches. Try to do things right and people will appreciate your articles and you will start to get more free traffic to your sites.
