Choosing A Suit Color Made Easy

By Victor Santerino

The most ignored area of a suit purchase is undoubtedly the suit color. Many men feel that they should choose their suit color based off of what color they like best. However, what men really need to look at before choosing a color is which color works best for them.

Reading this article will give you a much better handle on how to choose a suit color. You will read about body types, occasions, and skin colors and how they relate to choosing a color for yourself. Black, brown, tan, gray, and blue will be focused on throughout this article.

The black suit is great for both formal and somber events such as funerals, proms, and weddings. This suit looks good on all skin colors and is acceptable for all different body types. However, you will find that this color does have a slimming effect and will look best on larger frames.

The blue suit is best for the office and is the number one interview suit, (also known as the power suit). Men with lighter skin shades will look better in this color than men with darker skin shades. All body types look good in this color but thinner men benefit from it the most.

Brown suits have become slightly unpopular over the past decade or so. However, this suit still looks great on medium to dark skin colors and works well with all body types. Men looking to make a statement without appearing too flashy should pick up a nice brown suit.

The gray suit is a staple for any mans wardrobe. This suit comes in varying shades of gray but if you can only buy one make sure it is charcoal gray. Men with medium builds look best in this color. All skin shades look fantastic in this color on any day of the week.

Tan suits are known to be popular in warmer temperatures. They should be worn to all outdoor events requiring a suit and can be warn to some business settings. Pale skinned men should stay away from this color as well as extremely large builds.

This article did not cover every color suit on the market. However, I feel that it is a great start to learning what you can about suit colors. Please use this information to make the best purchase you can.
