The price of HD Plasma Televisions are about to rise
Have you been delaying purchasing a new electronic item such as a Blu Ray player, a high definition LCD TV or a high definition Plasma television for the reason that you are waiting until the price comes down a little more? This is understandable since the retail price of electronic goods seem to become cheaper and cheaper every year. Further to this many news reports talk of considerable price reductions on the high street that only seem to justify holding off for longer.

Today a Plasma TV can be bought at a fraction of the 10000.00 that they originally cost when they were launched. Not only are they cheaper but they have a higher specification and better performance. The prices of consumer electronic products never seem to go up. This is just about to change with imminent price increases from January.
Buy now or pay extra later
The retail price of consumer electronic goods is about to increase due to the deteriorating exchange rate of the pound against major world currencies. The pound has lost about 30% of its value against the Dollar, Euro and Yenin the last 12 months. On the whole most electronic products such as HD LCD TVs, high definition Plasma TVs, Blu ray players, AV systems etc are produced in either Eastern Europe so the weakened pound has add to the cost of importing them into the UK. Even those consumer electronic goods that are manufactured in the UK will be affected since the components are imported from outside of the UK.
Many main brand manufacturers havent passed these price increases on and have absorbed them. However this is about to change with Sony first announcing price increases of upto about 32% closely followed by Yamaha, Denon, Panasonic and be expecting more to follow. These price increases will begin to take effect from January 2009 on many existing models and imminent new models. Therefore the constant downward trend is about to change. Furthermore if the pound weakens any more then the prices may well have to increase even further.
Because of these imminent price increases now is the best time to buy the HD LCD television, HD Plasma television, Blu-Ray player etc that you have been promising yourself for so long otherwise you will in all probability pay extra in the future. If you dont take this opportunity at once it may be a long time before retail prices return to their present levels. If you dont believe that this will happen then you will pay more.
