Horoscopes are the charts or diagrams which astrologically show the position of the planets, moon and sun and predict the angles that are sensitive according to the aspect of astrology which is related to a specific event in the life of a person. The other names that are commonly used for horoscopes are chart, sky map, Cosmo gram, radical chart, vita sphere and astrological chart. Astrology and horoscopes are ancient concepts which have been developed for reading the positions of the cosmos and the stars in relation to the effects on human life.
The ancient societies like Babylonians, Greeks, Mayans, Egyptians and Aztecs had their own method of astrological readings which had great importance in the life of the people in those societies. The position of the planets and the sun played a great role in Egyptian architecture which can be easily seen in the great pyramids as it has been designed accordingly and the other astrological aspects have been used in the entire architecture of the pyramid. But the position of the earth as a planet is not taken into consideration in astrological calculation. These positions are considered according to the birth time of a person while preparing the horoscope.
The modern trend of prediction through the horoscopes is based on the method that was followed by the Greeks and so the same zodiac signs have been adopted as the sun sign of a person which is decided according to the time, place, date and year of birth. The horoscopes that are generalized and appear in the magazines or newspapers are mostly based on the position of the sun and the time of birth which sometimes cannot be taken as accurate prediction as the position of the moon is also very important because it is related to the emotional aspect of a person.
Horoscopes can be prepared to predict the entire life status of a person that is all the details about his future. These details also include all the good and bad things that are going to occur in his life and the fields that he should choose in his academic life and later on for his career so that he can achieve success in life. The horoscopes are divided into twelve houses and the zodiac signs are placed in these houses according to their position at the time of birth of a person.
