If you have heard about panic attacks, you may know that more than one million Americans suffer from this disorder. However, not many people know what exactly it is. Only a few can definitely tell what the symptoms are. In this article, we will discuss on how we can know if we have a panic attack. It will help you find out if you are having one yourself.

The following symptoms can signify that you may have a panic attack. Let's ask ourselves if we used to have the following:

-You have fear. You are afraid of everything. Sometime, you even think you are going to die. If you are having this feeling, there is a chance that the attack is happening to you.
-Your sanity is not there when it happens. It seems like you are going to lose your mind and go crazy.
-You have the pain on your chest. It is something that makes you think that you are going to have a heart attack.
-Your eyes are blurred. You may have some flashing visions.
-Sometime, you may feel that you are going to faint. You feel nauseated and want to throw up.
-Your breath is short and heavy. Some occasion, you may think that you can not breathe easily.
-You start to lose control of your self.

Technically, all of the symptoms come from the response of sympathetic nervous system (SNS). The system can stimulate the body have similar reactions for example shortness of breath, heart pounding, pain in the chest, body shaking, hot flashes, burning sensation in the facial and neck, sweating, hyperventilation and feeling of choking and smothering.

The symptoms are shown as the alarm for people who are prone to panic attack. They will increase your anxiety and form an anxiety loop.
A lot of people may encounter shortness of breath or chest pain. Many may misinterpret that they are having heart attack. As the result, they end up in the emergency room.

Also, a lot of the symptoms people have in panic attack can be similar to other lethal disorders. It is very crucial that you have the right and immediate diagnosis. Panic attack itself is not harmful and can not kill you. However, if you already have some sort of illness that is dangerous, the symptoms may mix up and you will not know which is which.

Panic attacks are different from other regular anxieties. They are more intense and can cause more problem than the regular ones.
