A Good Economy to Start A Personal Development Business?

By Jenn Lawlor
Jan 29, 2009
Today's economy should encourage us to seek a field that is growing, not shrinking. Personal development is heading in the opposite direction of our overall economy and the trends suggest this will continue. In a world where careers change, people are realizing that investing in yourself carries over regardless of career changes.

One of the simplest ways to enter the personal development industry and start your own business is to become an affiliate of a product line you BELIEVE in, trust and can earn a substantial income from marketing to like-minded people.

Success in this industry will come fastest when you commit to:

1. Spend at least a half hour a day dedicated to developing yourself. You'll experience so much greater success when people see you as a leader, and as a happy, fullilled business person. If you are marketing for a great company you'll have some real direction here from the products you will be selling.

2. Set your Goals. And don't let anything stop you from accomplishing them!

3. Learn how to MARKET. I'm a huge advocate of internet marketing, for obvious reasons, such as being able to tap into a limitless number of people LOOKING for what you have to offer.

These are CRUCIAL factors for your success. Invest in yourself, define goals, and become a master MARKETER.

By starting a personal development business, you're setting off on the right foot by immersing yourself in the MOST important training ever--developing yourself and finding your TRUE power. Because once you've got that area covered, you're truly unstoppable.

When you've found your power, or when your power has found YOU, life becomes so much richer. Things fall into place. Your goals become clear and attainable. Your passion for helping others grows, and as your marketing reveals your passion, your business grows. That's personal development.
