Tips For Mens Church Suits

By Victor Santerino
Feb 11, 2009
The suit is still the number one garment worn to church each Sunday. Each and every week men of all denominations can be seen wearing not only church suits, but shoes, jewelry, and even hats. This article will give you some tips on choosing the proper suit and suit accessories for church.

Firstly, you should make a decision on what style suits him the best. The work suit you wear each week can suffice as a church suit, but is not nearly as interesting. Choose a unique design or pattern that you normally wouldn't wear to work and you will be much happier.

Immediately after choosing a style, move on to color. Pick something that is interesting to look at but not too distracting. Dark color are fine for winter and fall, but save black for funerals and weddings.

Another area to consider is what type of shoes you will wear. Look for something a little less formal. Try to choose a pair that has unique designs such as wingtips, monk straps, or even a nice pair of loafers. Save your plain Jane formal wear shoes for formal events but leave them home on Sundays.

Choose a tie that goes well with the relaxed nature of your dress shoes and church suit. Decide on a tie style that shows off your particular taste. Tie the knot up in a Windsor knot o half Windsor knot rather than a four in the hand knot.

Next pick a nice hat to top off your outfit. Wearing a hat can separate you from the crowd all by itself, and wearing a great hat will make you look great. This hat does not need to be fancy, but it should show off your style as well as keep your head dry and warm.

Watches, rings, and necklaces are all items you can wear with your church suit. Make sure you do not wear anything offensive. The best way to do this is to keep medallions or necklaces tucked into your shirt.

I hope you enjoyed reading this article as much as I enjoyed writing it. Try these tips out next time you go shopping for a church outfit and you will be the talk of the town. Maybe together we can bring the suit to an even greater level of popularity in church.
