It is no surprise to anyone that playing certain video games can be harmful to kids in particular. Violence has been added to many video games and probably the most successful video games are the ones that have the most violence. Video game makers understand that kids like violence so they add it into their games. Here are some harmful effects of video games potentially on kids.
Certain video games, due to their negative content, promote violence which are harmful effects of video games on kids. Kids learn too much unnecessary stuff as a result of playing video games. There is no need for some video games to include so much graphic violence in their games. Kids have young minds that are easily shaped by negative influence which takes kids down a wrong path. Kids act on the violence that they see in those video games. The fight scenes and shooting scenes are very disturbing at the same time paint a lasting impression in their young minds.
Video games are one of the reasons behind a kids change in behavior. Kids spend too much time playing video games and it shows in their actions. Whatever they learn while playing normally is revealed in their behavior and conversation. Games are laced with profanity that stems from characters in the games and from the background music which are not healthy for kids. Kids are open and curious about things that they know are wrong but their curiosity gets the best of them. Parents end up wondering why their child behaved a certain way not realizing their childs addiction to a violent video game is the culprit.
Laziness is another harmful effects of video games because the average kid does not want to do anything but play games all day. When it comes to completing their homework or other tasks they just have no interest in those things. Video games are so addictive that it lulls kids minds away from their responsibilities and quickens them when they break away to play games. Kids of today are more lazy than kids ten years ago. The video game insanity has taken over most households.
Video games spark new negative interests in kids. Before a kids started playing certain video games they were innocent to many negative things. But after being exposed to a video game laced with profanity, sex, violence, guns, fighting, and more they begin to gain an attraction for those things. All of these negative influences are harmful effects of video games.
