Are Video Games Harmful to Kids?
Video games are growing in popularity each year and more and more games have a degree of negative content in them that prove to be harmful to the delicate minds of kids. There are so many ways that video games are like movies. They introduce kids to graphic images, dirty language, sexual images, and more. These bad habits can lead to a destructive nature in kids and answers the question are video games harmful.
Video games are very addictive not only for kids but for anyone that gets heavily involved into playing games. This addiction can lead to kids being loners. They do not want to go outside and play with the other kids because they are so drawn to sitting in their rooms playing games. They sit in classrooms daydreaming about playing their video games. This leads to poor performance in their grades.
Doing outside activities is something they abhor and do not see as fun because they see playing video games as the highlight of their day. Kids find more pleasure in playing video games than playing football with the other kids in the neighborhood. Are video games harmful in this regard, yes because kids allow themselves to become unsociable?
Video games are very suggestive. Kids learn more about life many times by playing many of the popular video games. These games introduce lots of bad habits to the lives of many kids. Games now days have ratings that warn customers that their games have similar negative content as many movies. There is the introduction of sex, gross violence, profanity, and other bad habits that game producers allow into their games to obtain higher sales.
They already know people like many of these bad habits which will yield them greater sales. But really, video games would sell just as good without harmful negative content. I have no idea why there is a need for mature rated video games when we have enough of that kind of content in movies.
Video games implant new bad thoughts into the life of kids. Many kids never thought about a degree of violence or sex until they were exposed to certain video games. The images from video games can be the start of a kids downfall in society and relationships.
Who knows what anyone will do after being exposed to certain kinds of negative content. Sexual predators are increasing, the jails are filling up with young teenagers who committed heinous crimes, many teens have guns, and more needless behavior can be as a result from exposure to certain video games.
Are video games harmful is a question that I do not think anyone would have an answer of no to because after playing certain games yourself, you can easily see how poisonous games are due to the negative content that game makers allow inside their games.
