It's never too late to plan an exciting, romantic getaway. A few days at a bed and breakfast inn will invigorate your relationship and create memories to last a lifetime.

At The Holladay House, located in the historic Virginia village of Orange, guests will find an idyllic romantic experience. This charming historic inn, built in 1830, is decorated with elegant furnishings and period antiques. Some rooms include whirlpool tubs, a fireplace or perhaps a private patio. There are plenty of amenities, including TVs with DVD players, alarm clocks with a CD player, soft bathrobes, luxurious linens and fine hypoallergenic bath products.

Breakfasts at this Virginia inn are a delight, a two-course affair served on fine china in the elegant dining room. The ingredients feature the bounty of local produce and farm-fresh eggs. In addition to the full breakfasts, the innkeepers offer coffee, tea and homemade baked goods throughout the day.

The innkeepers offer several add-on packages for guests who crave a truly romantic experience. This can be as simple as upgrading your room rate to include fresh flowers or perhaps a picnic basket. The Cupid Package includes a fresh fruit and cheese tray or homemade lava cake, a bottle of local wine and a gift certificate that can be used at one of several fine, local restaurants. The Aphrodite Package includes all of those goodies, as well as two in-room, hour-long massages.

In addition to all the fun and romance at The Holladay House, the local area is full of interesting activities. There are dozens of wineries to visit, many of which offer wine tastings and tours. Several antique shops are within walking distance of the inn. The innkeepers can even help you arrange a hot air balloon ride over the scenic Virginia countryside.

The homes of several U.S. presidents are close by. James Madison's Montpelier is only three miles away. The homes of Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe are about 30 minutes away. All three homes offer wonderful historic tours and special programs throughout the year. Another option is to travel along the National Register of Historic Places' Journey Through Hallowed Ground. This unique travel itinerary includes 65 historic places, one of which is The Holladay House Bed and Breakfast.
