Is This The Portable Grill You've Been Looking For?

By Diego Malingo

Portable grills come in all shapes and sizes, and you can even choose between charcoal and propane. To select the right portable grill, you need to first decide what your needs are, such as how often will you use it, where will you use it, and how much do you want to pay?

One portable barbeque you may want to consider is the Cobb Premier Portable Grill. I have used it a number of times, and for the most part, am quite happy with it. Read on for my full review.

Cobb grills are some of the best on the market, but this also comes at a cost. They are most expensive than some of the lesser brands. If you are looking for a high quality portable charcoal grill, then this one may be for you. There are a number of reasons that make this a great option.

First and most importantly, you can do everything with this grill, including baking, frying, grilling, and smoking. It works like a oven, so you can easily cook large items such as chickens, because it cooks the food evenly from top to bottom. A very useful feature of the Cobb portable charcoal grill is the outside metal of the bbq never gets hot. If you have ever burned yourself from accidentally touching a portable grill, you will appreciate this, especially if you have young children. It also makes it very easy to move the grill around, even after it's heated up and cooking.

Another benefit of this portable grill is that it has a grease trap that catches run off oil and fat. This works out amazingly well, preventing flare ups, in turn helping to prevent charred meat. This grease trap is also really easy to clean, and in general, makes the entire barbeque easier to clean.

There are a couple negatives to the Cobb Premier Grill. Although the size is decent, it is not conducive to barbequing for many people. It is great for two people, can do four, but any more than that will require a lot of time grilling. You can cook about four burgers or four small steaks at one time, or two steaks and some potatoes, just to give you an idea. The second downside is the price. This bbq will cost you somewhere around US$100, which is a fair price for what you are receiving. However, for many people this is a little over budget for a small camping grill. Last of all, although this grill works great if you want to bake or fry something, I don't find that grilling is as good as on some other portable grills.

All in all, if you can afford this grill, it is an excellent choice. It is easy and fun to use, and you can make some great barbequed food. A solid choice for those looking for a higher end portable charcoal grill, and for a grill they can use for more than just grilling.
