If you are on a budget, but you still want to go in vacation, there are many places to choose from that will allow you to have a good time alone or with family. If you live close to the beach, you can spend a few days in a hotel by the beach and enjoy the sun.

There are many activities for your entire family to participate in while you are on vacation. Spending the day at the beach is another way to get your family out of the house and into the great outdoors. Depending on where you live, there may be plenty of beaches, public and private, for you to visit.

Another vacation on a budget idea is to go camping. There are many national forests and campgrounds that offer very inexpensive places for you to camp. If you have always wanted to spend more time outdoors, there is no time like the present. You will be able to hike, see animals, meet other families, and build campfires. This is a wonderful vacation for those who have families because spending time outdoors is a great way to bond and become closer. Most campgrounds offer basic sites with running water and bathroom facilities.

One more option that many families consider when planning a vacation, is to take one vacation per year instead of a few mini-vacations during the year. This will give you plenty of time to save up for the trip and allow you to spend more while on the trip. Keep in mind that you will not be able to take smaller vacations during the year, but you will be able to take a one or two week vacation to a tropical island, major city, or another country if you choose. For those on limited budgets, this many be the best solution.

Saving up for a large vacation can take time and you may be able to pay for it in installments. Many cruise ships only ask for a deposit and then additional payments as the time draws near. You may be able to save up enough to make payments on your vacation and not have to worry about paying for it afterwards. You may also be able to pay for adventure tours and other activities when your vacation arrives. This can also give you more time to prepare.

When planning your vacation, make sure that everyone is in agreement about how much you can spend. Because some vacations can be more expensive than others, check out your options to see which one best suits your needs. Figure into your budget meals, gas, and other expenses so you don't go over. If you want to take a more elaborate vacation, then you may have to plan further in advance so you will have enough to enjoy yourself. Vacations should be a time of limited stress, so be sure that you are able to spend enough to have a great time.
