Blogging: How To Get Started
If you've been paying attention over the last couple years, you've no doubt noticed the impact that blogging has had. These days, it seems like everybody is blogging about something or another. In this article, we cover how you to can get started blogging, at no cost at all to you.
To start blogging, you need some sort of a blog host. There are many options out there, but I recommend going with one of the big free providers. The two big ones that I recommend are Blogger (owned by Google) and Wordpress. These are free, and provide you with a good range of features to help your blog grow.
There is one key difference between these two services, though. While Blogger will allow you to post ads and makes money from your blog, Wordpress will not. This isn't a big deal for many, but if you want to make money from your blogging, be sure you take this into account.
Another way to go is to pay for some web hosting (not expensive these days) and host your blog by yourself. This is a good option for many, but if you're a beginner, I would suggest just keeping to one of the free hosting options since they will take care of all the fussy technical details for you.
After you are all set up with your blog host, it is time to start posting! Write about whatever you want, but try to keep it interesting if you're hoping to draw in readers. At first, you will have very few readers at all, but if you write well, you will gain readers over time as they find your blog.
If you want to grow your readers, one of the best ways to to find and read other blogs in your area. You can then comment on these blogs. Since most of them will allow you to leave a link for your web site with the comment, you will lead people to your site as they read though the comments on the other blog.
Now that you understand how to make your own blog, go out there and get started one one today! Once you get going, blogging is a very fun and rewarding activity that will do wonders for your writing skills. Good luck out there!
