Take Advantage of Free Classics with a Wireless Reader
Like many other English majors, the classics section of my library was developed over my college years. When Friedrich Nietzsche was assigned, you could scramble to the library and hope to pick up their only copy of Beyond Good and Evil, or you'd opt for a used copy from either the college bookstore or a local shop. Either way, you owned it, and it was worth so little as a trade-in at the end of the semester, you kept it.
I still love reading classic literature, and I'm delighted with the library of second-hand, battered and tattered copies of works by Homer, Dickens and Melville. A collection like mine is something few English students will need to amass today, thanks to the Internet. Today so many of the classics are available online for free, there's no need to buy them - if you have a wireless reader, that is.
While anyone can download and read literary classics online, it's tough to lug your computer with you to class. You can bring your laptop of course, but that's not exactly convenient, either. But with a wireless reader, you'll have Nietzsche right at your fingertips to follow along with during class discussion. You'll also have Dostoevsky, John Milton and practically everything else you'll need for your next three classes, too.
I'm not suggesting the cost savings on purchasing all the classics you'll need for your college degree will make a wireless reader worthwhile, although I suspect it would in the long run. Classics are widely available for free online, but not everything you need will be available - yet.
You might have to purchase a book or two, although more and more titles are becoming available all the time. But having so much literature available for free in a convenient, portable device is pretty incredible if you're someone who needs to read and refer to classic literature frequently.
As a research tool, a wireless reader packed with classics is an incredible thing. As a way to pass the time when traveling or commuting, it's equally impressive. You always have something to read, and you can read at your convenience. You're never without a top quality read that's worth your while. If the idea of taking advantage of thousands of free classics appeals to you, a wireless reader is a great option. In fact, if you've been looking for a great excuse to pick yourself up a wireless reader, free literature is a great one.
Yes, the classics are available for practically nothing at used bookstores and through online book retailers. There's nothing like sitting down with an old, cherished copy of Moby Dick on a stormy night, either. But if you'd like easy access to the classics any place, any time, a wireless reader is your only option, at least for now. Classics aren't the only type of free ebooks available for wireless readers, but they're a big incentive for some to want to give these devices a try.
