As a business owner you may wonder if there's a way out from under the small business debt loans you have. There is, and it getting started doesn't have to cost a dime. There are many books you can find at your local library that will help you begin your journey to decreasing your business' debt.

Many libraries carry guides that will provide you with forms you will need to begin the debt clearing process. No matter what choice you have made to get your company out from under debt there are going to be forms to fill out. You can copy the forms while at the library and get them filled out.

One way to start getting a handle on your small business debt, loans may qualify for a lower interest rate. The company may even be able to offer you a grace period. Write your creditor a letter. Let them know your situation and ask for them to work with you to manage this problem. These letters will also serve as proof of you taking action if you end up in court.

In addition, you should keep all copies of return letters or letters from your creditors. This will include recording phone conversations, recording dates, recording time, and even recording the name of the person who called. You will provide a brief outline of the conversation and store the files in a safe location.

Additional fees on your bills and statements are not unheard of with credit companies. Make sure to check your statements. Anything you don't understand, or you don't know what it's for, call the company and talk to them. Sometimes simply asking for an explanation, and then to have the charges decreased and dropped has a stunning effect.

Debt consolidation is an ongoing process, but if you find a way to relieve debt gradually, you will eventually reap the benefits of your efforts when you become debt free.
