Designing Your Wireless Home Theater

By Jackie Lee
Apr 1, 2009
In the past the idea of having a home theater was only a concept for the rich and famous. Those days are long gone, and now you can find many average homes with a wireless home theater system. You can create a basic home theater system on a minimal budget, making it more accessible for more families.

Before you go out and buy the biggest system you can afford you have to think about the size of your room. If you put components that are too big for your room you will find your theater experience is not as good as it can be. The idea of bigger is better is not necessarily true in this situation. The size of your room will play a big part in the size of the components you need.

If you are working on a budget you want to start with the most basic elements of a wireless home theater. This is usually a tv, dvd player, and 3 speakers. If you have some money left in your budget you can look at getting a larger tv, or even adding some speakers or a subwoofer. Just make sure you don't buy too much if you are using a small room. You want a theater experience, not to go deaf.

If you are starting with a small budget make sure the store you buy your speakers at has a good return policy, and will allow you to try the speakers in your home first. Sometimes you get speakers home and while they sounded good in the store they just don't sound good in your room. It is necessary to be able to return them so you can get speakers that will work better in your room. If you have a little more in your budget you might hire a wireless home theater specialist. This is someone you can hire to come measure your room and then he will assist you in designing your entire home theater. He will be able to get the perfect components not only for the size of your room, but the shape as well.

It may seem like a luxury, but the ability to watch movies of your choosing, in your home without having to battle traffic jams, gas prices as well as ticket prices, may make the wireless home theater, less of a luxury and end up be a money saving endeavor.
