The Purpose Of Writing An Effective Article
Why do we write and distribute articles across the internet? What an ironic question - as that is exactly what will eventually happen to this article! But let's face it, at some point - whether it be now or in the future, someone has to tackle the topic of article marketing and get right to the truth of it. I have awarded this task to myself.
There are of course many reasons that someone might sit down to type out an article. From the obvious "advertorial" articles, which go on to rave and boast about the "benefits" of a particular product or service, right up to the sophisticated and psychologically stimulating articles with underlying persuasion techniques embedded in the odd sentence - there is always a purpose.
Much to the distaste of other article publishers who would prefer to keep this information a secret - let's dive in to the world of text publishing to see if we can actually uncover the true purpose of putting effort in to an article.
The Obvious Intentions Of Article Writers.
If you can spot a link embedded somewhere inside a particular article itself, you can be sure that it was intentionally planted there. Most article writers these days make their intentions so obvious that a small child would probably be able to play along. Put quite simply, the practice of inserting a link in the direct line of sight is a clear indication that the author wants you to click and visit.
More often than not with that style of writing, the publishers couldn't care less whether you were paying any attention to the actual article itself or not! They just administer a few fancy words and perhaps a bulleted list here and there, all of which eventually leads you to... the link.
Why is this blatant approach used so sparingly? To cut a long winded analysis short - it's because it works! People actually click, visit, and even sign up as a result of this technique.
A More Tasteful Way Of Doing It.
If you would rather not waste your time making up unexciting content, perhaps you could give the more graceful method of article marketing a try. To give you a quality example (hopefully this is a good article!), take a look at the very page in front of you. As you can see, I haven't yet interrupted your reading with an "in your face" attempt at link promotion.
Instead, I've saved that for the bottom of the page - in the reference box. Here's how it's supposed to work. After reading a section of useful content, you may be interested in finding out more about the author, their website, or more information on the topic. If this is the case, the applicable link is included obviously, yet gently at the bottom of the page.
This allows the reader to review the text, make a decision as to the quality of it, and then decide themselves whether or not to take further action. You can clearly see that whilst there may be a lower click-through rate on such articles, the quality of visitors to the link / website will be much higher.
So which method is better? Democracy and choice, or Communism and dictatorship? I'll let you be the ultimate judge.
