Have a Home Bar, Have Fun!
Want to entertain friends and relatives? Do it in your own home bar and have fun. We are in an age of home entertainment. It's a perfect time to create a bar in your own home.
Home bars can be a focal point for celebrations. They can be installed as an alternative to kitchen breakfast bars. They can even be an alternative to formal dining rooms. Nothing stops you but your own creativity.
Home bars have many variations. They can be a simple rolling cart containing cocktail glasses and an ice bucket, or a sophisticated bar, complete with a refrigerator and keg top.
Where can we locate our home bars? They may be installed in many locations. The most basic is a counter where you can mix drinks. This counter gives easy access to alcoholic beverages, ice, water, stirrers and wine glasses. Simple as that.
A bar may also be installed in a basement or spare room. In a front parlor or an outdoor patio. If you want to go big, these are fine choices.
There are two ways to install a home bar. You may design it yourself and build it on the chosen part of your home. Or you may opt to get a custom-made home bar with table and bar stools.
There are several types of popular bar designs. The corner bar is just a small cabinet to keep the alcoholic beverages in. This type uses the maximum storage space available.
The straight type bar is generally used at the room's end. The bar length spans the width of the room. Drinks and glasses are kept under the counter table. At least three stools, in a single row, should be able to fit. The back wall of the bar is arranged like a bookshelf. For an added touch, you can have glass shutters here, as this type can be used as a display window.
The L type wet bar has an L shaped bar. A built-in sink for washing is fixed at the shorter side of the L shape.
There are several factors involved when designing a good bar. Aside from the types of the bar tables, you must also consider the color schemes, the finishes, and the lighting, to create a comfortable mood. It is also important to arrange a reliable supply of electricity if you plan to install a small refrigerator in your home bar. This electrical outlet must be considered during the planning stages as it could effect where everything is placed.
Several accessories and even appliances can be included in your home bar. For example, a counter may hold an icemaker, a blender, shakers or even a small sink. One can hang racks overhead for goblets, glasses, champagne flutes or tumblers. A cabinet may conceal bigger units like a dishwasher, a wine rack, a cooler or even a refrigerator. Drawers can store napkins, utensils, swizzle sticks, bottle openers, etc.
To ensure a fun experience with your friends and relatives in your own home, make sure to plan your bar designs before you build them. You can even wear bartender attire to make the home bar feel even more like the real thing!
