How To Utilise The Resource Box In Your Next Article

By ERIK GIFFORD

When you write an article for the internet, you are probably not thinking about the enjoyment that the reader is going to get from reviewing your text. Nor will you be thinking "this is a great thing to do with my spare time". Instead, more often than not, you will be focused on how this article will generate more unique visitors, page views, and ultimately - sales - on your website.

Don't feel bad about this line of thought, because to be honest - it's a process which most article writers experience. After all, they are dedicating countless hours to research and write an appropriate and relevant article, which you are then able to access for free. It's not too much to ask for a little something in return.

But one question on people's minds might be: "How do I achieve a tangible return on my time"? Instead of going in to the psychological persuasiveness or underlying flow related pressures of article writing, the answer is actually quite simple. It involves the accurate usage of something called the "resource box". Let's take a closer look.

As you will see underneath this article, a resource box (or square, or circle) will contain a few bits of information for you to utilize, once you have read and concluded whether or not this text has genuinely succeeded in its proclaimed purpose. If you do decide to look at the box, there will be a few key things displayed:

- The Authors Name
- An Applicable Website URL
- A Blurb About A Product / Service

Why are these things present? Couldn't we just have included them somewhere in the article? Well, of course we could - but instead of jamming this article full of marketing and sales attempts, the resource box allows us to promote what we want to promote, whilst maintaining the integrity of the article.

Basically, by having a resource box following an article, you are able to actually write a decent text, which enables the sharing and distribution of knowledge - without having to rig in a piece of "self promotion" hype every 100 words or so. For professionally written articles, which really are trying to get a particular point across, this is absolutely vital.

But the uses of the resource box certainly don't stop with the 3 features above. Instead, there are a whole host of other items you could place in the area. After all, this is the one part where your sales and marketing skills can actually be applied.

Take a look at these nifty alternative ideas:

- Link To A Newsletter
- More Of Your Contact Information
- Link To A Video

There are just 3 more items which could be easily incorporated in to a resource box. Remember - the more relevant you make it to the topic of the article, the more likely an interested reader is to visit any links you have listed.

All going well, this small yet powerful section of an article could drive incredible amounts of traffic your way, and could indeed assist you in your own sales and marketing objectives.
