Filling in Wrinkles and Gaining Healthy Skin

As unsettling as it may seem to undergo a series of injections to improve the appearance of sagging skin, this type of procedure has risen in popularity and is now the norm amongst cosmetic dermatology experts. Doctors have created several different types of fillers that increase the volume of skin and lift the contours of the face without appearing unnatural. Cosmetic surgery can produce amazing results, but it can also be very obvious to spot. Because the injects are so small and precise, it is easy for specialists to apply the filler in the most optimal spots so as to improve the look without giving off an overly worked on face. These skin fillers that are added through injection are often guided by computer grids and applied by experts who have ample experience in improving the surface of your skin and filling in the wrinkles around your nose, mouth and eyes. There are many options for fillers that use varying chemical compositions to add volume to the face and increase the regeneration of collagen in the skin.

Perlane injections which are made of Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, a compound that is found in the natural tissues of skin. This acts as a filler to add volume and a tight surface to wrinkles. The advantage of perlane is the particles in the injection gel are tailored to each specific skin type and the place of the area to be treated. Perlane is often used in combination with another filler called Restylane to optimize the effectiveness of the treatment.

Other options include perhaps one of the most well known injection fillers, known as Botox. Botox consists of an injection of the protein botulinum which prevents the movement of muscles. The effect is to paralyze small portions of the facial muscles so wrinkles cannot be formed. Botox is used on its own or often in conjunction with laser treatments.

Radiesse is a fairly new injection filler that is composed of calcium based mircospheres. The calcium microspheres are injected into the skin and increase the volume of sagging areas or fill in frown lines and forehead wrinkles. The technology works by providing a foundation upon which more collagen can grow. The calcium deposits will eventually dissolve and be reabsorbed by the body while the collagen your skin produced will remain in place, creating a tighter and more evened out look.

These varying injections are all effective in improving the lines of wrinkles, and can be combined to maximize the look you are seeking.
