Restylane injections are often used in tandem with Perlane injections, which are also composed of hyaluronic acid. The difference is in the size of the particles of hyaluronic acid in the perlane mixture, and so while the effect are generally identical to that of Restylane injections, it may be better suited to the area you are treating. The size of the particles to be used is determined by the doctor depending on the results you are seeking. It is also common to use the treatments together.
A different type of chemical entirely, Radiesse is another type of injection that uses calcium based microspheres. This, like other forms of injection fillers, increases the volume of the skin and fills in tiny wrinkles and frown lines. The microspheres create a foundation for collagen to grow, and after several treatments dissolve into the body. Collagen will continue to grow in the affected area, and results can last up to a year.
Perhaps the most well known injection procedure is known as Botox. Botox consists of the injection of a protein that will paralyze the muscles in your face so as to prevent the formation of any more wrinkles. These injections are good preventative measures to stop wrinkles at the onset and work to smooth out the skin and even the texture of the face.
