Vaginal Discharge Caused By Yeast Infection

Aug 17, 2007
One of the most common signs and symptoms for sufferers of yeast infections is vaginal discharge. This need not be the case of course, but most times you will find that you will have some vaginal discharge with yeast infections.

This vaginal discharge can range from foul smelling and unpleasant to odorless and barely noticeable. There are a few different ways of dealing with vaginal discharge and homeopathic remedies are one of them.

Before going any further down that path however, you might first want to know what the discharge will be like. As was mentioned earlier it can be foul smelling, or it can be odorless, with a texture resembling either a thick white cottage cheese-like consistency or a thin, milky egg white consistency.

Some women also have a yellowish discharge which is firm and especially acrid or pungent, while sometimes the discharge can have a watery consistency.

All of these types vaginal discharge can lead to irritation, itching and/ or burning of the vagina. According to homeopathic treatments these types of vaginal discharge can also have an emotional impact on a woman, and it's along with this that homeopathy tries to cure the vaginal discharge caused by the yeast infection.

There are of course other methods if you aren't fully comfortable with using homeopathy to cure yeast infections and vaginal discharge problems.

One thing that you can do though if you suffer from vaginal discharge is to change your diet to reflect the fact that you have a yeast infection.

To this end staying away from yeast containing foods such as breads, fermented food products and alcohols, foods rich in sugars and carbohydrates, and also refined foods, and red meats should go a long way to helping you curb any vaginal discharge.

Mushrooms are also something that you might want to avoid. But things like brown rice and millet, citrus fruits such as grapefruits and oranges, lemons and limes should be included in your diet.

As should unsweetened yogurt, curd, cranberries, garlic, onions, vinegar, cinnamon, oregano, and also vegetables, vegetable broths and chicken. And something that most people absolutely forgets to include in their diets whether they have yeast infections or not, is water.

Drinking your allotted amount of water, eight glasses or more a day, can do wonders for your body. It's not only a great thirst quencher but it also clears away unwanted toxins from your body, and it can give you a refreshing feeling just when your spirits need it the most.

It can also help to de-stress you, stress can also lead to yeast infections which leads to vaginal discharge. All in all, along with any remedies you're taking for your yeast infection, if you can just change your lifestyle to a healthier one, your yeast infection troubles in the form of itching, burning and vaginal discharge can be a thing of the past.
