Affiliate Article Marketing for Links and Traffic
Most beginning affiliate marketers are able to get a web site up, whether it's on their own server or somewhere like Squidoo. What they seem less able to do is get some traffic to their offer. Affiliate article marketing is a great way to start driving traffic and start making some sales.
Affiliate article marketing is basically the same as Bum Marketing, which you may have heard of. It is a cheap and effective way to drive traffic. You simply write a short article of about 300 -350 words about a topic related to the site you want people to go to. This article is a great example. I want to get traffic to my site www.nichesitepromo.com which is all about promoting a new site. Affiliate article marketing is a piece of that, so it's a perfect topic for an article.
A lot of people say they just can't write, or they don't know what to write. This can be a challenge, but there are some good article templates available that can help you out. An article template is just an idea on how to write an article. An example is the 3 tips template. This is where you give your reader three tips to help them with your topic. So for this article I might write three tips to successful affiliate article marketing.
The resource box is actually the most important part of your article, well maybe second behind your title. The resource box is where you are allowed to have a couple links. These links can go to your website or your affiliate offer. Some directories do not allow direct linking to affiliate offers so read the TOS. What's important here is how you write the links in your resource box. You must use your keywords as the anchor text of your links. You want people click on your keywords and NOT "click here" that does nothing for you. Each link that has keywords anchor text will help your positioning in the search engines as well as enticing readers to click through to your page.
Once you have your articles and resource boxes written you have to distribute those articles to article directories. There are tons and tons of article directories available to use. The best of which is Ezinearticles.com. They are in good favor with Google and you will find if you have chosen good keywords you articles at EZA will often times make their way to the top of google on their own. You want to submit an original version of your article to ezinearticles.com. You can use a different version of your article to submit to the rest of the directories. Using software for this part is the best way to go, otherwise it is just too time consuming.
There are different types of software to accomplish this task. There are semi automated types of software, where you still have to be present, and hit buttons, but it will fill in the information for you as you go. There is also completely automated software. There are two main competitors in this area. One will send out the same version of your article, and the other creates unique versions of your article to send to each directory. The second is a little higher in price but the features of that service are well worth it.
Although it is many people's least favorite thing to do, affiliate article marketing packs a punch and can help drive a lot of traffic to your site. If you really hate writing or just can't do it you can always find someone to do it for you. However, using the templates available I think it's very possible for everyone to write great articles.
