Racing Vacations
f you are a real racing fan, you can never get enough of this exciting and exhilarating sport. So why not have a racing holiday so you can keep up the fun even on vacation? There are lots of different kinds of racing holidays and one of them is sure to appeal to you.
One great way to include racing in your vacation plans is to go to one of the racing museums. Many of the famous tracks have an affiliated museum. At Daytona Raceway, you can view the great cars that have been raced, and learn all about the drivers and racers of the past, while you view fascinating racing memorabilia.
There are travel agencies that specialize in sports travel such as this and you can choose from a Formula One Vacation, a NASCAR vacation, or a Grand Prix vacation. Let them handle everything, and you will have your hotel, race tickets, museum admission all taken care of for you. Optional packages might include one such as at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where you can meet and talk to real NASCAR drivers, or you might opt for an invitation to the hospitality tent, or get a scanner to hear the drivers and officials live in the race.
But for the ultimate racing vacation, try racing school. There are different kinds, varying by types of cars raced such as Corvettes or Indy 500 cars, to lengths of the school session. Short courses, from a day to three days, will teach you about they dynamics of racing, balancing, skidding, racing rules and safety precautions. These will be necessary if you are going to go on to a racing class with an instructor. If you move onto this step, you will be issued a helmet, uniform and your own car. The instruction includes building your driving skills and getting used to the car. Then, qualified driving coaches take you through the paces to develop your race car driving.
There is no pressure whatsoever to become an expert. The idea is to have fun and have a dream come true. Whether or not you become a hot shot race car driver is not important to the school-you have to pay them in advance anyway. But they do want you to be safe and enjoy the experience. But if you put your mind to it, you can learn to drive like a pro and will love the thrill of making the laps around the track just like one of them, and at speeds you have always dreamed of. It is a fun experience, but it is also exhausting, so make sure you are in shape, and that you eat well and are well rested before you attend "school". Of course, you have to have a valid driver's license to attend one of these schools.
Just think about telling your friends about what you did on vacation-drove the Indy 500. Well, maybe it wasn't "the" Indy 500, but as far as you were concerned, it was.
