Fishing is what's known as a secondary profession that you can add to your 2 primary professions in WoW. Fishing is a gathering profession that lets you fish in the many waters in the WoW realm and also improve your hunting skills.

Some items found when fishing can be consumer uncooked, while others can be enhanced during cooked. Hunters have the option to feed their pets food as well. Sometimes you might stumble upon treasure chests and reagents when fishing, both are great little bonuses.

If you have a character that is level 5 or above you're able to fish. The first thing you need to do is get trained by your races fishing trainer. You'll find this trainer at your races beginning fish pond.

Fishing trainers are located at numerous places throughout the game, but to start with you'll need to go to the following places:

Taurens start their fishing in the lake due north of Bloodhoof Village, Orc's and Troll's start in the sea which is located south of Sen'jin, Humans around Goldshire, Dwarves and Gnomes just north of Brownell Village and the Undead start fishing in the lake to the east of Brill.

If you're a Night Elf, you can choose to start fishing in the sea close to Rut'Theran Village, the lake near Dolenaar, or in the water around Darnassus.

If you are already an experienced WoW player you can fish anywhere you like.

Some suggest evolving your fishing ability slowly in line with your characters level rises. If you max out your fishing ability at 150 when you're level 10, you'll be able to use the fishing pole as a powerful weapon.

Fishing is an easy and useful profession to learn, all it requires is some patience. Once you have a high fishing skill however you will be able to fish the waters of Azshara and get massive payouts in short periods of time. Taking the time to master this profession usually pay's off big time.
