New Ways to Use Southwest Pillow Covers in Home Decor
With a little creativity, you can use your southwest pillow covers any place in your home. Pillow covers can be used for more than just throw pillows on your couch and bed. It is time to step out of the box and make your home look unique with a little southwestern flair.
No matter which season it is, I love choosing different designs of pillow covers to trade out and use in several places in my home. Why not use a few of my decorating tips to spice up your southwest home decor?
After you have settled on the best style that will enhance your southwestern decor, it is time to begin your journey of having fun and being creative while bringing a new fresh style in your home. Deciding on the perfect pattern and which direction to go in is never the fun part. Once you have your decision made, you are now able to create a little southwest excitement in your home decor.
I love finding or hearing new unique and intriguing ideas that will make my home spring to life. Earlier this year I chose to go with a few throw pillows for my couch and a couple on the floor beside it. Many times I have been on the floor playing games with my kids and wish I had a pillow for my back. When I found some beautiful Indian style southwestern pillows, I couldn't resist placing them around for all my guests to enjoy sitting wherever they wanted to sit.
One unique tip I have found is to use my pillow covers as a table setting. I chose a Native American style wool pillow cover to place in the middle of our coffee table. Instead of using a runner or place mat, the pillow cover acted as a perfect table decor. As my coffee table centerpiece, I chose a silver water pail with sunflowers and daises mixed with deep purple calla lilies. The colors really mixed well with the pillow cover design below them.
Pillow covers can be made into a pillow and placed on a shelf. Not only will it give your shelf texture and color, but it will truly be unique. You will see there are many places in your home to use your southwest pillow covers rather than using them only for throw pillows. In the bedroom, you can mismatch your pillow covers for a variety of decorative pillows.
If you have bay windows with a bench in your home, don't hesitate to add some color and texture with your new southwest pillow covers. All you have to do is stuff them and throw them for great comfort and fun. I have heard that some people who have a southwest kitchen love to place their already made southwestern pillows in their dinner table chairs. If your chairs are big and bulky, why not add a little fluffy comfort?
Southwest style children bedrooms are a blast to use southwest pillow covers in. Use them as throw pillows on the bed, yes. Why not have some of the bigger over sized pillows for cozy girl talks or fun forts for the boys? You can find beautiful native Indian style pillow covers ready for stuffing that will bring a load of southwest excitement for all of your children. You may even like to have a pillow placed on your rocker in the nursery for more pleasant comfort to your back.
After you choose your pillow cover design and place them where you want them, you too will enjoy the feeling of southwest perfection.
