Indian Car Companies Are Taking the Auto Industry by Storm
The automobile industry in India is growing rapidly and isn't slowing down anytime soon. It stands as the tenth largest industry of its kind in the world and produces approximately two million units every year. With this type of trend, this industry is expected to rise to one of the major global automotive industries within the near future.
With the rising popularity for fuel efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles, the purchase of an Indian car just might be your best investment. Indian car companies offer many models that are revolutionizing the car industry. From fuel efficient trucks to the cheapest car ever produced, they have what you need.
Currently there are eight Indian car companies, six of which produce cars for the general population. The company Hindustan Motors has discontinued almost all models except for the Ambassador which is primarily used in Indian by taxi drivers and Indian politicians. The Indian car company, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, produces fuel efficient utility vehicles such as trucks and jeeps. The engines of their newest models use top of the line clean-burning, Common Rail diesel engines. Maruti Suzuki was formed as a partnership between India's government and the Suzuki of Japan. It offers small, contemporary sedan-like cars for the public. Premier Automobiles offers De Soto and Plymouth cars in association with Chrysler which is based out of the United States. The company REVA is an electric car company, offering their only model, the G-Wiz, which is intended for use at a city car. The final company, Tata Motors, offers the most inexpensive vehicle ever created, the Tata Nano with costs approximately $2,000.
Although some of the Indian car companies still rely on petrol and diesel, alternate fuels are being found in more and more of the newer models. Because India is an over-populated country, the automobile industry is working hard to produce cars that are fuel efficient and eco-friendly. The two major alternate energy sources that are rapidly taking over India's car industry include Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), also known as propane, and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which is a fossil fuel made by compressing natural gas down to about 1% of its actual volume. Both of these alternate energy solutions are much more eco-friendly and cost efficient.
Currently Indian cars are getting better and better. Don't be surprised when you start seeing them in your neighborhood. The wave of the future is inexpensive, fuel efficient cars.
