What are the Basic Wicca Beliefs?
The religion of Wicca is based on ancient pagan beliefs that existed ever since the Earth was born. Pagans believe that the energy in the Universe manifests itself as all living things. No one person or thing has any more importance than another. All animate and inanimate things are created by the same energy, that of the Universe. Nature in its various shapes and forms constitute and encompass the life forms that belong to this Earth and to whom the Earth belongs.
One of the most important beliefs of the Wicca practitioners is the Wiccan Rede. This rule enables all members of this religion to live freely without many restrictions and to practice freely without any fear. When compared to the restrictive and negative ways in which the monolithic religions try to control others, the ways of the Wicca indeed seem to be a breath of fresh air. It is ironic that Wicca is now becoming more popular than ever because people are returning to their roots as a result of all the destruction that has been wrought by the clash of the three organized religions that kill in the name of an unseen entity named God.
The wiccan rede explains how the Universe runs. Each of our actionsreturn a similar action, sometimes three-fold in nature. This means that if we love each other and help our fellow citizens, regardless of their culture, country, race, color, etc., the Universe will help us and keep us in joy.
However, if we think of our fellow human beings as strangers and refuse to help them, or if we hurt them in any way, we will receive three times as many negative consequences in our life. To illustrate this, if we just look around, we can see the effects of wars in the world. The countries who start the wars are the ones who usually end up destroying their people and their future.
Wicca is a peace loving religion. The main goal of its practitioners is to preserve the Earth and use it resources wisely. By using natural items, such as cotton clothing, natural stones and wild herbs in their own gardens, Wiccans have led the movement to a more innate way of life, one that existed a long time ago, and one which has unfortunately been overtaken by the global corporations and greedy enterprises which abused the ancient cultures in the world in the name of colonization.
