Orlando is not the only big city in Florida. In the one state there are other such notables as Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville and Tallahassee to name but a few. So in order to keep people coming back, the city needs to have more than the two admittedly excellent theme parks that seem to get most of the press. Whatever people may think, Orlando has a lot more than those. It has not become a successful business city on the back of two places which, after all, are targeted in large part at children. This industry alone is worth billions, and where you find big business you will find a lot of other businesses. While many people may come here in search of the most famous mouse in the entire world, those are not the people who will generally be dining in an exclusive restaurant.
Fine dining is not something which, with the best will in the world, will be targeted at the crowds of tourists who have come to see Mickey Mouse. It is generally a more adult world which does not appeal greatly to children. It is a place that reflects its many years of service in the industry with incredible quality.
When people come to Orlando, they have done so out of choice, and that choice is mostly nearby in places like Miami, Tampa and the others. Choosing Orlando reflects a lot of faith that it is a big hitter in Florida, faith which is admirably well founded. The level of fine dining in this city shows that however many cartoon characters may be gambolling not far away, there is a serious, grown up and high-achieving Orlando that succeeds on its own terms. That side of Orlando eats in places like Christini's, because quality is a recognisable brand all of its own.
