There are many factors to look into when choosing an affiliate program and product. You want to only choose companies that pay high commissions and have a proven track record for paying their affiliates ontime. My personal favorite are 2-Tier affiliate programs that let you build a sub-affiliate team which can earn you residual income for the sales of your affiliate team. With the thousands of programs online, you may want to take your time and be very picky about which program you choose before wasting your valuable advertising money.

The reality is that you will be competing with lots of other affiliates and you need to stick out of the crowd. Consider putting together some free reports or e-books to give away with a link to your blog or affiliate site. This will make you different from the rest of the people trying to promote the product and also builds your credibility by providing potential customers with free valuable information.

2. Build an opt-in mailing list

It is a known marketing fact that people do not buy on first contact. People have to see something six or seven times before they decide to make a purchase. This is the number one reason why you should collect the e-mail addresses of people who download your e-book or visit your website. You can follow-up with these contacts for years to come and increase the number of sales to more than just a one time deal.
