Can You Really Treat Asthma Symptoms and Signs The Simple Way

Aug 17, 2007
As the world globalizes, many people are having asthma due to the climate change. Asthma is a chronic lung disease that affects more than 20 million people in the United States, and possibly 30 to 40 million worldwide as the air is getting more and more polluted and more developing countries emerging.

Alternatively it could be blocked with a layer of mucus or could become constricted due to some other reason. All these factors could lead to severe problems in respiration, which could even result in death of the person.

During an asthmatic attack, there is severe difficulty in breathing, characterized by wheezing, gasping, shortness of breath and inability of speech. Generally an attack does not last more than a few minutes. However, a severe attack could kill within those few moments the attack lasts.

For most people who have asthma, their air flowing in and out of their lungs may be blocked by muscle swelling and squeezing. Asthma symptoms and signs include cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath, mirgraine, bad tempered, stress and wheezing.

What are the symptoms to look out for?

There are specific things to look out for. These include wheezing, in which you whistle when you breathe in or out. If this happens to you or your child at night or when you have just gotten over suffering a cold, it could mean that you are developing asthma. Of course, it could also mean that you are developing or suffering from a lung infection, which is dangerous in its own right. Either way, see a doctor immediately.

They can range from colds to allergies. There can even be particles in the air. If you are diagnosed with this, and you are a smoker, you will need to quit. A problem with the lungs is not good to combine with the smoke of a cigarette. This can cause you to have a serious attack.

Many toxins that affect the airways by overwhelming the other neutralizers of the body cause asthma. Extremely irritating, those toxins damage the delicate structure of the airway tissues, and therefore, causing the abundant secretion, the edema and the spasms - the main parts of the asthma attacks.

How to treat asthma symptoms and signs fast?

At this present moment, there is no cure for it. Hence the only 'treatment' for an asthmatic attack will be to identify the allergenic factor and completely eliminate it from the surroundings of the person. Often it is difficult to find out which the allergen is; but with careful observation, it can be found out.

People living with an asthmatic patient should also take due care that the allergen is not introduced in the proximity of the person. Generally when the allergens are eliminated from the surroundings, asthmatic patients can lead a normal life.

One more point is to keep a bronchodilator always at hand. This is a pump-like device which pumps air forcibly into the respiratory tract, thereby reducing the constriction. Also the bronchodilator must always be full - negligence could make all the difference between life and death to a patient.

Even though you may know what are the various treatment for asthma symptoms and signs and what triggers them, with all these information available of no use, action is power when applying knowledge which will then free yourself the agony of having asthma again.

You should never add to, or alter any component of your current asthma treatment without first consulting your physician. Even you may consult a doctor, however without a proper asthma management system, there will not be much asthma free lifestyle to hope for.

Applying these facts and tips together with a system - enjoy your life once again.
