There are a number of different types of coverage available on your Seattle Auto Insurance policies, one of which is uninsured motorist. Uninsured motorist coverage is meant to help pay for injuries you receive from an accident with a driver who is uninsured.

Underinsured motorist coverage is meant to pay for expenses resulting from an accident where the driver responsible does not have enough coverage to do so. This elective coverage will give the insured driver the added protection of extra peace of mind.

Many auto insurance experts feel it is very important to add uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage to your policy. Statistics show that the highest class of drivers that is responsible for an accident is those that are in a low paying job or unemployed.

Since these drivers do not have a lot of money they will often skimp on the amount of coverage that they purchase for their auto insurance. Their driving records are typically among the worst as well. With these two circumstances combined they create a large risk to other drivers on the road.

Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage is one of the cheapest types of coverage that you can add to your policy. It is definitely cheaper than standard liability coverage which pays for the damages that you cause. Because the costs are so minimal is would be unwise to decline adding it to your policy.

You should purchase as much uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage as you can. Because most accidents are caused by such drivers and you will never know when you could find yourself in such an unfortunate situation.

A large majority of insurance providers will offer these forms of coverage to their customers. All drivers should discuss with their insurance broker or agent about purchasing sufficient amounts of uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage.
