Laptops: Revolutionizing the World
Laptop has brought a drastic change in the computer world. The whole world is grateful to some major computer companies. There was a big deal between the two companies, Toshiba and Sony Computer. Both of them decided to shrink the size and weight of personal computer to make it in a smaller version of it. Then, any one can perform the job just by placing it on their lap. Anyone can carry their laptop in a small bag.
The term "laptops" started from here because these mini computers could be used, apart from one's desk, by simply putting it on one's lap. The laptop was then used to refer to smaller portable computers as opposed to "desktops" which were the regular computers that sit on desks in many offices and homes.
Laptops are made by simply compacting the usual components of the personal computer. Major computer manufacturers such as Dell, Toshiba, Sony, HP-Compaq and other such as Acer and Lenovo have a major market share when it comes to computers. Dell brought in the concept of customizing computers for its customers.
With the advent of compact computers the concept of customization came in. Now, the user is himself equipped to customize his system, in terms of memory-size, hard-drive size, processor speed, RAM size, and much more. The user possesses the power of designing a system. This idea of customization was first brought in by 'Dell'; the other companies just followed in. Thus began the era of customization.
For the first time customization was made with its components. Though customization has made computer performances at a better label but now customizations are proceeding further to change the computer looks.
While most computers come in black and grey, the top computer manufactures have began to crank out laptops that come in different colors. One of the colors is pink and this is one of the most popular laptop colors now in the open market.
But today, laptops are not the sole domain of lone businessmen, researchers working on projects or lecturers and teachers. This is partly because they have become more hip and also because of what computers are used for. Computers used to be created for work-related tasks and that is why they were popular with businessmen and researchers and others.
Computer manufacturers are now producing a large no of laptops in various colors. Laptops are getting popularity on the base of related task of businessmen and researchers. Now, laptops are known as "notebooks" which is incorporated with more RAM and more processor speed.
