Firstly, you must understand the different types of projector available. Basically, there are 2 types of projectors: the LCD and DLP projectors. Today, most businesses prefer the LCD type over the DLP type because a it has many advantages over a DLP model.
One of the main differences between a LCD and DLP model is the way LCD handles the color saturation of images. A DLP projector display images that are very bright but lack in depth of color when compared to an image projected by the other model. Another difference is that a LCD projector tends to project sharper images. You can easily notice that images that are displayed by a DLP projector tends to get fuzzy on the screen, whereas the images by a LCD model is sharp and has well-defined border.
Although LCD projector produces sharper and clearer images, DLP projectors have their advantages too. DLP projectors do not produce images using individual pixels as what other models do. Sometimes, pixels can be visible on large projection screens. As DLP projectors do not use individual pixels to project images, this is not a problem at all.
One thing to note is that it is very common for individual pixels to burn out over time. This will cause an uneven color and poor display on projected images. Once a LCD chip is burn out, it is impossible to repair and you must buy a new one.
As you can see, both DLP and LCD projectors have their own advantages and disadvantages. Although majority of businesses are already using LCD projectors, you can choose to use a DLP projector if you like.
