Printing Your Own Banknotes!
If printing banknotes was legalized, then probably everyone will take up the profession with an objective to earn huge incomes by making money themselves. Today, in most countries, banknotes are printed only at various places called 'mints'.
These mints are destined to print only bank notes and coins with the consent of the government concerned.
In all countries, one currency has been nationalized that is accepted in exchange of any trade activity by all the residents of that particular country. One government bank is given the authority of regulating the currency throughout the country.
Whenever the bank feels that it is the appropriate time to get some more currency printed, it orders the respective mint to print the particular amount of notes. With the help of various monetary policies, the central bank regulates the newly printed banknotes throughout the country.
In some countries, the printing of banknotes is also assigned to some printing companies that print these notes whenever the governing authority orders them to do so. If you want to successfully run a company that deals in printing various banknotes, then you have to provide high quality services at competitive prices and on a mass scale.
This is because most of the providers today are ready to print banknotes quite cheaply. So to compete with them and fulfill the various criteria required, you may have to bear some losses initially. But once you are ready with your clientele, you can easily make handsome profits. To provide the service effectively and efficiently, you have to take orders in the thousands and millions.
Sometimes, you may also wish to print your own currency notes with your own head on the banknotes. Yes, you can do that but it is morally questionable especially if you want to run your currency in some country.
On most of the banknotes, there is a promissory note by the federation or the government or the Queen, which says that the payer is paying to the bearer the amount of money that is stated on the note. The legitimacy of all the transactions is guaranteed by the authority of the country on whose behalf the promise to the bearer is made.
All countries are governed by some authority or governing body. This governing body has a responsibility to take care of its citizens in all respects. It may sound legitimate to print your own currency notes.
But the thing is that on any currency note you have to make a promise to the bearer. As far as you making a promising note for yourself, it is ethically correct. But if you want to make a promise on behalf of someone else, it is totally dishonest. Running your own currency would mean that you are promising to people on behalf of the governing authority, which is indeed not legal and will land you in prison.
