Top Tips For Fire Safety At Home
Home is a place where we all love to be. It is the place that we seek when we are in trouble. In short, it is a peaceful paradise that saves us from all the stresses and unhappiness and fills it with fun, love and laughter.
Thus, we want to make it perfect for our loved ones and ourselves. One way to make your house safe yet comfortable to stay is to adopt fire safety measures. I am sure you have heard about fire safety. But, in this ever-changing world, it is hard to stop and look at every detail. So, here are some tips which are easy on the eyes yet comprehensive and easy to understand.
Ensure that your house is equipped with at least one fire-fighting device.
Fire detector- To detect fire at an earlier stage so that you have sufficient time to prevent the fire from engulfing your house. Types of fire detectors:
Flame detector
Infrared fire detector
Ultraviolet fire detector
Smoke detector
Heat detector
Carbon Monoxide detector
Fire blanket- To put out small fires associated with light-weight items.
Fire bucket- A fire bucket is filled with either water or sand to put out a fire break-out.
Fire escape ladder- If you are on a budget but are concerned about your loved ones, this is ideal for you. Works the same way as a normal ladder.
Fire hose reel- This works the same way as your garden hose but this is much bigger and able to put out a fire much faster.
Adopt habits that could save your lives:
Do not overload your sockets as it may lead to the melting of the wires resulting in an explosion.
If anyone in your family smokes, you should ensure that there are enough ashtrays around the house. You should also pay close attention to stubbing out the cigarettes and disposing of them. Better still, make them go outside as it is selfish to smoke around non-smokers and especially children.
Check that all electrical points are switched off before you head out or go to sleep.
Safety in the Kitchen:
Do not leave your cooking unattended.
Remember to switch off the stove when it is not in use and check again to be sure.
Do not leave young children alone in the kitchen while preparing food.
Do not leave match sticks and other flammable items lying around.
If you adopt the above techniques, you can be more certain that your house is safe for all. Your home will indeed be a peaceful paradise!
