Diy Make A Personalized Bookmark
Here is another fun and easy craft for the kids to create and give as gifts. These can be given to friends, teachers, and family members as gifts for any occasion, and it is the perfect gift for anyone who loves to read. This gift can be used to mark the reader's place in a book so they don't have to fold over the corner of the page they are on to keep their place.
The materials you will need for this craft are white or colored cardstock, scissors, a hole punch, a ribbon, permanent marker, a glue stick, and glitter, and you will also need a clean and dry work area.
To begin this craft you will need to use the scissors and cut a rectangle out of the cardstock. You can cut it as wide or as long as you want. Using the hole punch, make a hole in the top center portion of the cardstock. Thread the ribbon through the hole and tie together to form a loop.
Next, use the permanent marker to write the name of the person you are going to be giving the bookmark to in the center of the rectangle. You could write their name vertical or horizontal depending on your preference. Use the glue stick to apply a thin layer of glue over the entire surface of the bookmark and sprinkle glitter onto the glue. Gently shake the bookmark upside down to remove any excess glitter.
There are many different ways that you can decorate your bookmark. If the person you are giving the bookmark to as a gift loves hearts, you could draw and color in hearts of various sizes on the bookmark. You could also draw hearts, apply glue to the inside of the hearts, and sprinkle glitter on them.
If the person you are giving the bookmark to as a gift is a teacher then you could use ABCs and 123s to decorate the bookmark, and then write your name and date on the bottom of the bookmark so the teacher would remember you every time they used the bookmark.
If you are going to be giving the bookmark to a grandparent as a gift then you might choose to glue one of your school pictures onto the front of the bookmark and then write your name, date, and what grade you were in.
You could also create more than one bookmark to give as a gift, maybe creating one bookmark for each day of the week by writing a different day on each bookmark.
Whichever way you choose to decorate your bookmark, this craft is definitely a fun and easy craft to make as gifts, and it will be a treasured gift to whoever you give it to.
