World of Warcraft Cooking Guide
Cooking is a great way to earn cash in WoW and it is also one of the more enjoyable professions in my opinion. In this guide I am going to give you a few pointers to improve your cooking skills and in more importantly, make a nice amount of gold.
Initially in World of Warcraft you start out in a beginner's area. In this area you wont be able to start the cooking profession, you can start it when you hit level 5. Until then just knuckle down and try to save some coin to use when you start your cooking trade.
Once you are all ready to leave the beginners area, go and speak with a guard and find out where the cooking trainer is located. Go and find the trainer. Your initial recipe is spice bread so head to a cooking supply shop and buy the needed ingredients. Cook the bread until it becomes green.
When you are questing you can often find suitable cooking ingredients. Even if you don't need them right away, its sometimes a good idea to hang onto them because they will be of use later and you'll save a bit of money not having to buy them. Egg's and meat are a couple of common ingredients you can find during quests.
Another tip, when talking with NPC characters, always look through all of the items that they have as you can sometimes stumble upon rare recipes that you don't have. One of the possible achievements in WoW is based on the number of recipes you have (and know how to use) - this is an easy way to get them.
If you start accumulating too many ingredients, sell them in the Auction House and make a little coin, avoid throwing them away.
The best way to make money with cooking is by selling items that give a stat boost. You may find these dishes difficult to make at first, but stick at it as in the end you will earn some serious gold with these meals.
The combination of professions that you have is important. I have found fishing to be a great combination with cooking as the work very well hand in hand. You'll find that you need fish to make many of the most lucrative recipes.
Make the most out of cooking. Use the boosting foods to your advantage and restore your hit points through eating your own meals. Sell in demand foods for gold in the AH and couple Cooking with the fishing profession for maximum profit.
